The Department of Industrial Management and Technology is committed to ensuring quality in all its activities, through the adoption of appropriate policies that will promote its academic character and achieve its objectives. It is also committed to conducting high quality research and providing quality educational programs and services to meet the needs not only of the academic community but also of society.

To this end, the Department supports the conduct of high-quality research, based on the developments in science and technology and the requirements of the market and society. At the same time, it offers human-centered, modern, accessible, equitable and inclusive education, based on international quality standards.

QUALITY POLICY OF THE POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM OF THE DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY

The Department of Industrial Management and Technology applies a quality policy with the aim of academic excellence, the completeness and integrity of the educational process and the continuous improvement of the Postgraduate Studies Program. The quality policy of the program is complementary to the quality policy of the Department and the University of Piraeus, in compliance with the standard and principles of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education. All members of the academic community of the Department, on the basis of the long-standing values that the Department adopts and advocates, contribute substantially to the effective achievement of its mission and objectives.

Academic excellence

The Department of Industrial Management and Technology ensures to its students a high-quality education based on academic ethics and professional integrity. The Department of Industrial Management and Technology provides specialized knowledge, skills and abilities to address the contemporary technological, managerial and social challenges in the fields of product handling and distribution, energy and environmental management and project management.

The Department ensures:

  • The compliance of the MSc Program with the specifications and provisions imposed by the applicable regulatory framework and any guidelines of the University of Piraeus, including all obligations arising or determined by accreditation bodies and the state.
  • Linking teaching to research, integrating the needs of the labor market. To this end, the program’s lecturers (faculty, teaching staff, external collaborators) are scientists of recognized prestige, who have specialized knowledge, extensive research work and significant experience in the subjects of the program of study.
  • The provision of modern infrastructure and training facilities for its students (classrooms, research facilities, laboratories). Students also have access to a wide range of academic resources, including online databases, e-journals and books. This ensures that students have the resources they need to succeed in their studies.

Quality of the educational process

The Department is committed to providing its students with the tools needed to achieve their academic and professional goals. To this end, the Department provides a supportive educational environment that encourages academic development and personal growth. The curriculum incorporates explicit and measurable learning outcomes, fostering critical thinking, research proficiency, and analytical skills, enabling students to adeptly undertake and accomplish intricate tasks. Furthermore, to enhance the quality development of its postgraduate curriculum, the Department adheres to a policy of actively engaging students in the program’s redesign. Continuous improvement

The Department of Industrial Management and Technology seeks and implements the continuous evaluation of the Postgraduate Program in order to ensure a successful professional career for its students and/or to support them in the continuation of their studies.

The Curriculum Committee regularly reviews the curriculum, teaching methods and infrastructure of the Department to ensure that they meet the needs of its students. The Department also seeks feedback from students, lecturers, alumni, professional partners and academic partners in order to identify areas for improvement in the curriculum, teaching methods and infrastructure.
