SHORT CURRICULUM VITAE
Dr. Alexandros Bousdekis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Management and Technology at the University of Piraeus. He has participated in several Research and Development (R&D) projects funded by European and national resources (FP7, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, GSRI, IKY, etc.). He has published more than 80 papers in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and conferences. Three (3) of his conference papers have received the Best Paper Award. He has served as a reviewer for more than 50 international scientific journals and over 30 international scientific conferences. He has also been included in the “20 under 40 in Industry 4.0” list for 2025 by Manufacturing magazine.
EDUCATION
He holds a Diploma in Production and Management Engineering from the Technical University of Crete, an MSc in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Warwick (UK), and a PhD from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in the field of industrial maintenance. His PhD thesis received the Best Dissertation Award from the Hellenic Operational Research Society (HELORS) and an Excellence Award from the Public Power Corporation (PPC S.A.).
RESEARCH INTERESTS
His field of expertise is “Reliability, Maintenance, and Asset Management.” His research interests include: predictive maintenance, Artificial Intelligence in reliability and maintenance, intelligent systems and information systems management for asset management in the context of Industry 4.0, Machine Learning in manufacturing, and Generative Artificial Intelligence in reliability and maintenance.
