Cooperation agreement between the University of Piraeus and PMI Greece as a result of the Department’s actions

At the Department of Industrial Management & Technology, we remain committed to the cultivation and promotion of Project Management and we implement the goal of linking scientific and professional bodies with our academic programs.

On 21/11/24, as a result of actions by our Department, the University of Piraeus signed a cooperation agreement with the PMI Greece Chapter, the Greek branch of the leading international organization Project Management Institute. The relevant memorandum was signed by the Rector, Prof. Michael Sfakianakis, and the President of the Board of Directors of PMI Greece, Ms. Zanina Anagnostopoulou, as well as the Dean of the School of Maritime & Industry, Prof. Angelos Pantouvakis, and the Chair of the Department of Industrial Management & Technology, Prof. Dim. Emiris.

The signing was followed by an event organized by the Department of Industrial Management and Technology, in which the participants (including dozens of students from our University) had the opportunity to learn about the actions of PMI Greece, the newly established PMI Student Club, as well as the importance of digital transformation in modern businesses and projects (we thank Paraskevas Bourgos, Alexandra Pavlidou and Konstantinos Ioannou for their speeches).

At the event, Prof. Dim. Emiris presented the new, recently certified with excellence, MSc in Project Management, which will begin operating in 2025. This new program provides specialized knowledge, has a practical orientation and cultivates the skills that the business environment expects from the modern Project Manager.
